E.Coli Disease Trials

(Gastric Bacterial Infection)

Escherichia coli (E. coli) or IED disease refers to infections caused by certain strains of the Escherichia coli bacterium, some of which can lead to illness in humans. This study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of a 9valent E. coli vaccine in the prevention of the first invasive extraintestinal pathogenic E. coli/IED disease.

E.coli clinical trials are taking place in Little River, South Carolina, to help find potential treatments for the condition.

What is a Clinical Research Study?

Clinical trials are research studies that test the impact of new or existing medical interventions on human volunteers. These interventions can be anything from medications (think new drugs, vaccines, or therapies) to medical devices (pacemakers, stents, surgical techniques) and even treatment approaches (new surgical procedures, behavioral therapies). The entire process is meticulously designed to assess the intervention’s safety, effectiveness, dosage, and potential side effects.
